Day two in beautiful Paris! If you missed the last post, you can catch up here.
We started the day relatively slowly, not setting an alarm and enjoying time to unwind. This is what I love about visiting a city for a fourth / fifth time, you can relax a little more and feel more part of the culture.
If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may remember that in last years Paris blog I found a winning brunch spot.
CAFÉ DE FLORE
Café de Flore was a real winner for me last year, but we left it a little late and missed out on some Paris menu essentials. This time, I wanted to head there as soon as we woke. Ed and I jumped in the shower and headed out to beat the rush. Parisians tend to start their Sunday’s later, so we managed to still have a leisurely morning and still beat them. When I say leisurely, I mean we got out of bed at about 8:30… For us that is a lay in!
Thankfully they had their signature hot chocolate and pain au chocolat and boy was it good! Their signature hot chocolate was honestly, hands down the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! Thick and creamy and presented so beautifully.
Café fe Flore is one of the oldest coffeehouses in Paris and that is why it is so special. Trust me, if you’re in Paris you need to make time for this place.
We had great weather for winter when we visited. Clear blue skies and absolutely no rain! Always a bonus when you are doing lots of walking.
We went back to Montmartre when we finished breakfast. Montmartre is at its best on Sunday’s. With all the artists out in force to sell their painting of Paris to tourists. We go back to the same man every year. He sells art of famous Paris landmarks, all of which are done with black fountain pen. Now we have a nice collection for our home and because they are black and white, they will fit in almost anywhere.
We veered off from the hustle and bustle and stumbled upon this little gem. Obviously we just had to stop for lunch here, I mean… What a view!
We shared a pizza and I had some mulled wine and we just soaked in the culture once again. I have to say, we have done a lot in Paris over the years and because we generally only go for the weekend, we try and cram in as much as possible. This time we made no plans. We just went with it and it was probably my favourite trip yet.
OUTFIT OF THE DAY
You didn’t think I’d have a trip to Paris without some stripes now did you? Would this even be a Paris blog without them?
This jumper has been a massive success. Everyone loves it and it sold out very quickly, but it is now back in stock and ready and waiting for you!
I saw this in their window as I walked to work every morning and I became slightly obsessed. When they had their black Friday sale, I dashed in and thats when I found out that it’s actually mens. I was already in love with it by this point and so that really didn’t phase me. It is however the reason it is SO oversized.
We spent the rest of the afternoon doing our Christmas shopping. Only stopping for a quick pitstop at Ladurée before hopping on our (not delayed) Eurostar.
