Bloomin’ Brilliant

This weekend I was invited to a gorgeous event with Jo Malone Guildford.

The event was to celebrate their limited edition scent Star Magnolia, redolent of delicate white blossoms!

The masterclass was called Blossoms Posy Masterclass.

Kate Osborne came in from The Gorgeous Flower Company to host a blossom floral masterclass. Kate gave us a lesson on how to create our own floral crown, which is inspired by Star Magnolia.

After watching Kate give us a demonstration, it was our turn. Kate had made it look very easy and we were all sure it wouldn’t be…

We had one hour to learn how to do it and then create something of our own, there was four of us in the group but Kate had brought along some of her team to help guide us.

Myself and my friend got stuck in straight away, it had all been laid out so beautifully. There was lots of flower and foliage options but I’m not going to try and list them because I am absolutely awful with flower names!

In true Jo Malone style, we were offered sparking wine and chocolates while we worked. The team in their now know me very well and know that the camera will be out at any opportunity. They had laid it all out so wonderfully and everyone had on their own flower crown.

The flower crowns were obviously harder to make than Kate made it look, but they were certainly worth the effort. Kate and her team were telling us how popular these have now become at weddings and I can see why. I think they make an elegant change from the tiara and for flower girls, they would just be adorable.

They were also telling me that they make floral wands for flower girls too!

Now for the scent that we were all here for, Star Magnolia.

“Delicate white blossoms bursting with spring’s sparkling charm. Star Magnolia is in bloom. Experience magnolia leaf and orange blossom with a kiss of lemon, ginger and shiso. Tantalising. Flirtatious.”

The bottle is quite stunning and makes for a classic twist on the usual Jo Malone bottle with this lovely magnolia blossom around the lid. I also love how the bottle has the gorgeous ombre design on the glass, making a great addition to your dressing table.

The scent is fresh and light and unlike anything else I have smelt at Jo Malone. If you haven’t had chance to go and test it yet, then get it while stocks last. This is a limited edition collection and the hotly anticipated hair mist has already sold out!

I call this my Pretty Women blouse, I hadn’t worn it for ages and then this week I have re-discovered it and have lived in it! Styling it with all sorts of classics, making each outfit make me feel elegant and chic. I decided that it was not yet time to put it back in the wardrobe, so I styled it with my good old playsuit.

You may be bored of seeing this playsuit by now but I’m still a little obsessed. It just pulls an outfit together and is completely effortless.

This outfit felt quite retro but it worked and the comments I received on the day were so lovely. I also thought that it might be nice to see this playsuit styled slightly differently because it is so versatile.

When thinking about cost per wear, although this piece was pricey, it has definitely been worth it through cost per wear. It also always looks different because as I mentioned, you can just wear it so many different ways. I did a whole blog about this playsuit here if you want more details and to see another way I styled it.
