I like these Culotte

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Culotte, the trouser that can be suited to anyone’s style.

I have only been into culottes for the last year or so, but now I believe everyone should have a pair in their wardrobe. I’ll tell you why… Culottes now come in so many styles, so even if you don’t like to dress up, or dress down there is something for you.

If you suit the midi-skirt style but want a change, then this item is for you.

  1. Dress them up – team them with a smart white shirt and a killer pair of heels and this outfit has got all your girlie nights out covered. Having a good white shirt is always a fabulous idea and it will go with any culotte that you choose.
  2. Keep it casual – Culottes also look great when partnered with a pair of trainers. My shoe of choice would be the Adidas Gazelle or the iconic Stan Smith trainer.
  3. Accessorise – Culottes can be simple, so this means you can get creative with your accessories! Add a pop of colour and sass with some funky heels or top.
  4. Pair it up – Culottes can quite often come with a matching top. I really love this look and it makes it easy and quick to pick out. Matchy/Matchy outfits are still very much in at the moment and this look suits it.

I started my collection with some simple black culottes from Marks & Spencer. They look so smart and they are great for work and dinners. Black means that they are easy to pair up with different styles of tops and my outfit looks different each time.

Then added some colour with a camel pair from River Island. These made their debut in Spain and everyone loved them. They are made even better now because they are in the sale!

I wanted to add a pair that were slightly more out there and would suit a wedding. I loved the blush colour of these culottes and teamed with a pink or white top would be the perfect warm wedding outfit. These were on ASOS and they are also now in the sale!

My final and most recent pair of culottes are from a gorgeous boutique in Chobham called Betty & Claude. I had had my eye on them for a while, all the larger sizes sold out really quickly but one small and one extra small remained. Each time I went in the boutique they were still there. The reason I hadn’t bought them is because I was trying to be good and save money but then they were on offer for £5!!! I just had to have them, and I love them. I have dressed them up but I also think they look fabulous work casually as I have done here. My grey Gazelle trainers paired with them make a great team and they are my weekend go-to because they are so comfortable.
