Autumnal Shades

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe shades of autumn are so beautiful. I love when the leaves start to fall and the air turns crisp. Don’t get me wrong, summer is incredible, but I do like a change of season.

If you caught some of my recent blogs, you will see that I have already started to build my autumn wardrobe. I have been back on the High Street recently and just loving their trends. ASOS, Zara and River Island are constantly open in my safari because I’m loving it all so much!

Top – River Island // Jeans – Great Plains // Boots – Dune

So this weekend I had a Saturday with NO plans (other than a super casual takeaway with friends), this is a real luxury and I love being comfy.

I have lived in this particular top from River Island ever since I bought it. It it loose fitted but tighter on the arms to keep in the warmth. I like the autumnal shades and the high neck. It is warm but now boiling, so it has proven to be perfect for our unpredictable September.

I teamed this look with my favourite black skinnies from Great Plains (which is sold in Betty & Claude in Chobham), and my mock croc ankle boots. If you remember from my Jan/Feb blogs, these boots were my black Friday bargain. I often get asked about them and they are so comfy!

Now it is colder, my favourite berry lippy is also back out to play! This colour is called Glastonberry by Charlotte Tilbury and it’s dark purple shade just screams autumn. Charlotte Tilbury is a more luxury beauty buy, so if you want this look for less, I have found it in the form of Rimmel. 030 from Kate Moss’ Lasting Finish range is my next best thing and the two colours are very similar.

The big baggy jumpers are currently sitting in my baskets but this top is ideal for the transitional months and that ultimate home comfort top.

If I wanted to smarten this look up, I would pair it with my black culottes and some heels. This season is set to see lots of loose tops with pencil skirts and so that is another way I will be styling this look! This is actually one of my favourite looks. I watched the Vogue programme on the TV the other night and lots of people were rocking that look in the office and it looked fabulous. It is the epitome of smart/casual work wear – and still look marvellously chic!

Keep an eye on my Instagram to see my different looks daily.

Love Life,
