Friends Fashion Friday – LAURA

So as you may now be aware, for the fashion month of September, every Friday I will be posting one of my favourite fashionista’s looks.

If you missed the first part of the edition, then you can catch it here.

My second FFF is from one of my old school friends, who is actually getting married and I am having the honour of being bridesmaid!

At school, I would say my style was most similar to Laura’s. We were quite preppy and already loved our designer brands. I remember Laura coming into mufti day (a day where you can wear your own clothes) in Pepe jeans, I was obsessed!

We went to house parties in our little skirts, teamed with a Ralph Lauren shirt and a pair of heels. We thought we were so cool!

Laura is well travelled, she left school then went to live in Australia for just under two years. In Australia, she discovered loads of amazing Australian designers. My last FFF Tegan had also lived in Australia and mentioned some Australian brands as her favourites.

Laura is now living in Dubai, goodness I have some extravagant friends. Do you think it is perhaps telling me something that the last two friends I’ve features, no longer live in the UK? Laura loves Dubai for its tax free shopping but mostly saves it all up for her visits back to London! Charlotte Tilbury normally does well when Laura is back in the country!

This look was shot at our bridesmaid lunch. Laura was back in the UK for a short time, so we squeezed in a girlie lunch to discuss wedding plans and catch up. This lunch was smart, so Laura dressed to impress in her typical classic style.

I ask each of my lovelies 10 questions about their style so that you can learn a bit more about them and their fashion do’s and don’ts.

Scarf – Market in Sri Lanka // Dress – Zara (similar) // Shoes – LK Bennett

How would you describe your style?

I think my style is classic. I like timeless pieces in my wardrobe that see me through all occasions.

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?

This dress I’m wearing, it goes with every accessory and any shoes. Whenever I wear it I get stopped to find out where it is from!

Who is your style icon?

I have two, Millie Mcintosh & Kate Middleton. Kate always looks elegant and her outfits are such classics and will never go out of fashion. I also like Millie’s as I love the Chelsea look.

What is your favourite brand and why?

High Street I love Zara & Jigsaw. You can always buy some beautiful pieces that look designer without the price tag. My favourite British designer is LK Bennett, they always have beautiful items that are so elegant! Another designer I loved when I lived in Sydney was Zimmermann!

If you could live in with just one item of clothing, what would it be?

I think if had only one item that I had to live in, it would be a dress or a midi skirt!!

Do you prefer to by a luxury piece of clothing or a luxury accessory?

I definitely prefer to buy a luxury accessory, a nice pair of designer shoes, clutch or scarf can really make any outfit.

What was your last purchase?

My last purchase was this dress.

What is your must-have fashion item for summer?

As I live in Dubai, I’m lucky enough to catch the sun all year round. So I would say a beautiful white dress (they are great for highlighting a tan!). Also a beautiful stylish bikini/swimsuit!

What is your biggest fashion faux-par?

I would say a full length jumpsuit has never suited me!

Love Life,

Emma xxx
