Well unless you have been hiding under a fashion rock this year, you will know that the bomber jacket has been huge in the fashion world.
I have stayed clear for a little while as I felt like it was a bit cool for me… I would describe my style as usually quite dressed up and put together. If I’m doing casual I usually pair some jeans with a nice top from REISS or LK Bennett, so the real cool casual that I love is something I don’t actually do often. If you read my last blog I was shopping in Maje in Spain deciding what to buy. I was immediately drawn to my usual buys… An evening dress and a playsuit. Ed (my partner) really likes a more relaxed glamour vibe and he spotted a bomber jacket partnered with a dress, hanging on the wall.
I loved the bomber jacket instantly but I just thought it wasn’t me. I started to picture how I would wear it and I loved the idea of dressing it up or down, so I went for it!
Ed obviously has good taste because the lady in the shop said it was there bestseller! When I buy a new item, I develop an obsession with thinking about it. The whole flight home I was thinking how to style it for the blog and where I should shoot the look. I knew I wanted to dress it down but give it a Precious Needs vibe, that’s why I partnered the look with some heels. I thought a graffiti backdrop would be cool but Ed thought a plain concrete wall would be best. We set out to find the perfect backdrop and we unsuspectedly spotted a deserted very green and spring-like road. It matched the bomber jacket and complimented it beautifully, so we changed our plans and did a “U-ey” to hit the side street in Surrey.
This BACARY jacket is made from amazing material (I love the way Maje make there clothes and the materials they use), it has a silk material feel and the stitching is beautiful. It was surprisingly warm and it has ignited a new love for casual attire – great another love and more reasons to be forever poor!
I bought this jacket in a EU 36 and I’m a UK 8 in tops and jackets usually. This is quite small because I wanted this fit and I didn’t want it be be done up, if you do then I would go a size bigger.
This is a more luxury brand, so if you can’t quite stretch to this but still want to rock a bomber this summer, I have found a some great alternatives from my high street favourites:
River Island £45.00 (LOVE)
New Look £29.99 (LOVE)
AND if non of these are up your street all you have to do it tap “bomber jackets” into your search engine and you will get hundreds of options!
